HHI Internship Program
Haiti Health Initiative offers unpaid academic internship experiences in editing and in document design to interested high school and college students. This is a great opportunity for students to practice their skills in a real-world work environment that is forgiving and supportive.
Based on their expressed interests and skills, students are assigned individual writing, editing, and design projects. These projects are not practical exercises, but are actual documents and reports HHI needs created and perfected. After a brief feedback and review period, student work is published internally or externally, as the scope of the project permits.
Most work is done remotely to accommodate student schedules.

Studying English and editing
Graduation: December 2018
Samantha Bullock is a senior at Brigham Young University. She took a semester off last year to pursue her dream of living and working at Walt Disney World in Florida as part of the Disney College Program. It was during her time at Disney that Samantha made several Haitian friends who brought the widespread needs in Haiti to her attention. Besides Disney, some of Samantha’s other great loves in life are reading, hiking, rock climbing, going to the gym, experimenting with vegan cooking and baking, doing jigsaw puzzles, and traveling. Samantha has visited many places, but the one she calls home is Portland, Oregon, where she hopes to move back after graduating.

Aimee was born and raised in Utah with her sisters, one of which is her twin. They grew up playing sports competitively, something she still loves doing. She is in her third year of college at BYU and proclaims herself a Cougar, dyed in the wool, true blue, through and through. As soon as she set foot on campus, she knew that she wanted to pursue an editing career because her older sister is an editor, and Aimee looks up to her a lot.
