HAITI HEALTH INITIATIVE PROJECTS
Haiti Health Initiative focuses on improving the overall quality of life for rural Haitians in more than just primary healthcare.
The people of Haiti are grateful for volunteers and donors who help to make their livelihoods better.
Medical care alone is perhaps one of the least important elements in a plan to improve community health and status. Thus, in addition to providing medical, dental, and ophthalmological services and training, HHI also works with the local populous to improve agriculture, education levels, basic nutrition, and access to potable water. Together, these different projects create an overall sense of wellness in the community.
HHI’s overall objective is to teach self-reliance, not hand out free care and cause the Haitian people to develop dependence on Haiti Health Initiative. Professionals from each area of specialty design projects to both improve initial conditions and also educate the community on how to maintain the work and continue the improvement process.
