Infection, lack of dental education, and poor overall preventative care are prevalent issues among the people of Timo due to their limited access to regular dental treatment and preventative services. The Haiti Health Initiative (HHI) is committed to addressing these challenges through our comprehensive dental projects.

Eliminating Pain and Infection

The primary goals of our dental team are to eliminate dental pain and infection in patients through extractions or fillings. We work tirelessly to provide these essential treatments to as many individuals as our time and resources allow.

Promoting Preventative Care and Education

Equally important, we are dedicated to educating the local community on proper oral hygiene practices. Our dental program provides a range of preventative treatments, including sealants, dental cleanings, fluoride varnish applications, and distribution of hygiene supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss.

Building a Sustainable Future

Ultimately, our vision is to shift the dental landscape in Timo from primarily treating infections to primarily providing maintenance and prevention education. To accomplish this, we are addressing the lack of local dental care by providing scholarships for promising Haitians interested in pursuing careers in dentistry. By supporting and empowering the local community, we aim to drive sustainable change from within.
