We are excited to share that the community school in Timo has been renamed "The Georgette Beauvais Community School Of Bas Coq Chante." Marc-Arel Martial shares, “Georgette Beauvais, my grandmother, never learned to read and write growing up in Timo. She encouraged us to go to Timo to provide basic public health services because she knew there was a great need in that remote community that was not being met. The community school that is being built in Timo will allow every child to learn to read and write, and to count and do arithmetic. The school kitchen and cafeteria will provide each student with a balanced meal daily, therefore decreasing malnutrition and high rates of anemia among children.” Georgette Beauvais wishes for those in Timo will live on in her honor!
